About the place

• Created by an Italo-Australian team who put food and wine first, 121 BC opened in 2013. Founder/owner Andrew Cibej spent eight years over three separate operations percolating the idea for 121BC Hong Kong. The result is a hybrid of trattoria and enoteca with a bit of Sydney thrown in. Dominated by a long communal table, diners pair their wines with Italian , substantial shared plates off the produce-driven blackboard menu - think of the Sunday Italian family lunch, the table groaning with a multitude of plates; ingredients are seasonal and where possible, sourced from rooftop gardeners and local farmers. Behind the glass wine shelves is a 10-seat private dining room for more formal, yet still casual, dining in larger groups. A perfect event space for birthdays, meetings, or a reunion.
